Lincolnshire County Council Transport & Roads Department purchases Four Colortrac SmartLF Cx 40 scanners

XMA, an Allied Images reseller, has supplied four Colortrac SmartLF Cx 40e scanners with floor stands and associated software to Lincolnshire County Council's Transport and Roads department. The scanners will be used in four offices: Manby (Louth), Lincoln, Sleaford & Boston covering North-East, North-West, South-West and South-East Lincolnshire respectively. As the Local Highway Authority, the County Council is responsible for planning and implementing a range of schemes aimed at improving conditions for motorists, public transport users, cyclists and pedestrians, as well as supporting industry across the county.

SmartLF Cx 40e is a high-performance colour scanner with innovative contact image sensor technology that delivers fast yet cost-effective large image capture to a variety of formats including JPEG, TIFF and PDF. The scanners are designed to provide CAD and office scanning markets with future-proofed solutions through hardware and software enhancement options. Whether it is maps, plans, sketches or project planning documents SmartLF delivers accuracy and quality with maximum workflow at a very affordable cost.

Major factors in the acquisition were SmartLF’s very affordable cost - less than £5,000 for an A0+ colour scanner and associated software with the ability to scan directly to PDF for document archiving purposes, and, Allied's ability to supply a Universal Repro Stand which allows a scanner to be placed over a printer thus minimising the office footprint required. Lincolnshire CC office in Sleaford, which had very limited office space, was able to use this solution with an existing HP DJ800 printer saving scarce office space.
