Contex Announces NEW Family of 36” Color Scanners

Environmentally Friendly Scanners that are Faster, Deliver Superior Quality and Greater Value!

Contex, the leader in wide-format imaging technologies, announced at their Annual Distributors Conference three NEW scanners with up to 36” image scanning capability — the COUGAR G600, CHAMELEON G600 and the HAWK-EYE G36 family of Color Scanners.

The entire product line has been redesigned to offer customers the very best and most advanced in technology that complies with the expanding global environmental polices and energy requirements to meet the demands of the scanner markets.

SCANNERS THAT MEAN BUSINESS
The COUGAR G600 and CHAMELEON G600 both feature the most advanced scanning technology available today. They feature advanced 48-bit CCD Technology with 77,000 (color) pixel image capture, four times more pixels than most other 42 inch scanners on the market today!

Additional features include, Accuracy Lens Enhancement (ALE) for precise and stable scan accuracy of 0.1%+- 1 pixel—an industry benchmark, All-Wheel drive for smoothly handling of large originals and Automatic Thickness Adjustment (ATAC) that allows scanning of up to 15mm/.6” media thickness. Scanners include flexible connectivity with FireWire and USB2 interfaces for ease of installation and use.

The NEW HAWK-EYE G36 uses an All-Digital Camera with advanced point-of-origin color capture and on-board digital conversion ensuring minimum noise and an extended dynamic range. It too, has the features found in the fore-mentioned 36” scanners and having a four linear CCD ensures perfect image reproduction with 30,000 pixels of data capture. This scanner has a fast 10/ips monochrome speed in either the Base or Plus configuration and in color has a fast 1.5/ips for the Base version and 3/ips for the Plus version

Scanning Superiority and Image Enhancement
The COUGAR, CHAMELEON and HAWK-EYE color scanners each capture color at 48 bit color data capture and 16-bit gray tones for the most precise and detailed images. Using All-Digital cameras with advanced point-of-origin image capture and on-board digital conversion ensures minimum noise and an extended dynamic range.

The scanners contain advanced technology for color and monochrome enhancement providing vivid and clean results from even poor quality originals. All processing is embedded in the hardware enabling the user to perform powerful image enhancement without the typical slow processing speeds of a PC when post-scan processing.

One Touch Scanning
These Contex scanners all have operator panels designed with convenient programmable action buttons that can initiate common tasks directly from the scanner. Each button immediately activates a scan and opens the image in an appropriate application and format. The scanner is equipped with action buttons for scanning, copying and e-mailing loaded originals and can be reconfigured for other tasks.
