Niels Appel Appointed Executive VP of Worldwide Sales & Marketing for Contex

Niels Appel, has been appointed Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Contex - a world leader in large format imaging technologies. In his new position, Niels Appel will be responsible for the development and implementation of Contex's global sales and marketing strategies and programs.

For the last 8 years, Niels has been with Microsoft, moving from Director of Small & Medium Business and subsequently Enterprise & Partner Group in Denmark to being promoted to Director of Sales Excellence, Western Europe in 2006. "I am very enthusiastic about joining Contex, which besides having established itself a market leader for large format scanners, is an exciting growth company with significant potential for expansion. I look forward to joining the Contex team," says Niels Appel, the new VP of Sales & Marketing for Contex.

Niels, who graduated in engineering from DTU (the Danish Technical University), started off as an office software developer at IBM and later became International Project Manager. He has worked in sales and marketing for the last 13 years. Niels has been Account Manager at SAS Institute (business intelligence software vendor), later Sales Director in HP Denmark, responsible for the entire HP channel and all HP products from small inkjet printers to large enterprise UNIX servers, and also European Sales Director for Catalog International, a dot.com company developing Ecommerce solutions. "Niels has the background and the expertise we are looking for and his industry experience is very relevant for Contex," says Svenn Poulsen, Contex Group CEO and President.
