Image Access GmbH from Wuppertal, Germany; a leading manufacturer in the professional scanner market, will present their newly developed large format scanner WideTEK 36, with an optical resolution of 1200*600 dpi at Intergeo 2007 in Leipzig.

With the performance of the WideTEK 36, user friendly operation, speed and flexibility can now be realized in large format scanning. This quiet and extremely fast 36 inch color scanner is the perfect choice for geographic information systems, computer aided design (CAD), architectural / construction, reprographics agencies and the graphic design industry in general.

With the introductory price of 9.999 Euros including the foot stand, software and all accessories, Image Access is revolutionizing the market with technology and price. The WideTEK 36 is both RoHS compliant and Energy Star certified, as are all WideTEK A2 and A3 flatbed scanners from Image Access. The Scan2Net® technology on which the WideTEK 36 is built, is the common technological platform for all Image Access scanners.

The large format WideTEK 36 scanner for formats with a width of up to 36 inches (915 mm) presented by Image Access is a new member of the WideTEK product family which is distinguished by its speed, user friendly operation and flexibility as a solution for large format scanning.

Extremely high scanning speed, dust-free, airtight sealed optical components, long life illumination and nearly no consumable parts guarantee a highly efficient operation of the scanner and a fast return on investment. For more than 1,000,000 scans the WideTEK 36 will continue to serve efficiently, setting new price/performance standards in the large format scanner market.

A highly compact device considering the possible scanning width; the WideTEK 36 is outfitted with a touch screen, providing operators control over nearly every function literally at their fingertips. An exceptional feature is the possibility to scan directly to a USB stick.

Special transport wheels with individually mounted, spring loaded ball bearings secure placement of the scanned document during transport to ensure the best and most gentle document throughput for originals up to 3 mm thickness. The automatic width detection allows the operator to pass even the most delicate documents through the middle of the scan table, eliminating the danger of torn or ragged edges caused by paper guides.

An innovative adjustment compensator, with which the user can determine the amount of pressure between document and glass plate, transports delicate documents with the highest degree of protection and precision during the scan operation. A state of the art illumination system implementing bright white LEDs ensures optimal scan results with a very low noise floor but at the same time, reduced power consumption.

All WideTEK scanners are built on the Scan2Net® platform. Scanners running on this innovative but proven platform require only a network connection and can be operated using any standard web browser, operating system independent, further protecting your investment.
