Image Access Acquires Worldwide Bookeye Sales Channel

On January 1, 2010 Image Access acquires the worldwide sales rights for the Bookeye product family from ImageWare GmbH. Rudiger Klepsch, currently CEO of ImageWare will move to Image Access as CEO and will be responsible for marketing and sales of the Bookeye, WideTEK and other products at Image Access.

By restructuring the sales channels under Image Access GmbH, both companies will benefit from the resulting synergies and stronger market standing. Image Access broadens its portfolio and can offer flatbed and wide format scanners up to format A0 under the WideTEK brand, as well as planetary scanners from A3 to A1 under the Bookeye brand. ImageWare will retain their primary focus on software and project business in the public and private library markets.

The ongoing development roadmap for camera optics, image processing and scanner functionality can be implemented in all Image Access scanners and guarantees high speed, optimal quality and ultimate compatibility between the scanner families Bookeye and WideTEK.

ImageWare will focus in the future on their central competencies software, project solutions and service and will extend their activities in these areas. They plan to further develop BCS-2; with over 3000 installations, a leading scanning software package for planetary, flatbed, sheet feed and microfilm scanners. ImageWare will also enhance their workflow and document delivery product family MyBib eDoc.
