Océ Debuts New Inline Folder for Océ TCS500
Large Format Multifunction Color System Made Even More Productive with Automatic Folding Functionality
Océ, a global leader in digital document management and delivery systems, today announced the addition of a new inline folder for the Océ TCS500 large format color print/copy/scan system, making it the most productive integrated color CAD/GIS print system available.
"This new inline folder continues the productivity promise of the powerful Océ TCS500 system. With this addition, large format color prints and copies can now be automatically folded, allowing users to run jobs 'truly unattended' - even overnight - and enabling them to streamline the distribution of technical color print sets," said Sal Sheikh, Vice President, Marketing, Océ Wide Format Printing division of Océ North America.
Convenient, intuitive operation enables folding of technical color plots directly from the driver or operator panel of the scanner. Océ TCS500 prints or copies are automatically fed into the folder by way of a bridge and are folded according to a folding program selected via the folder's operator panel. The user can select from eight folding programs, with a screen displaying all relevant parameters of the selected folding program. A switch between the folder and the printer separates documents that do not require folding. Documents can also be fed manually into the folder.
The Océ TCS500 folder is especially useful for technical CAD/GIS color sets of 10 to 30 pages. Because the folded documents fit into an envelope, postage costs are lower than when mailing rolled drawings in a tube, they can be more efficiently transported, and they are not as vulnerable to damage.

Features
What happens when you need to print a document that contains lines, text and images on the same page? You have to make a decision. If you choose to print the best quality to accommodate the image, you give up print speed. If you choose to print faster to accommodate lines and text, you compromise the print quality of the image. Now, there's no trade-off at all between crisp, rich color output and the ability to meet uncompromising deadlines with the Océ TCS500.
No longer does a user have to sacrifice print speed for print quality. Revolutionary, new Océ Dynamic Switching Technology guarantees the optimum trade-off automatically without additional adjustments by the operator. Whether the original contains lines/text, images, or both, Océ Dynamic Switching Technology eliminates any guesswork in choosing the correct print setting. This unique Océ technology automatically "senses" each part of a mixed image - from fine lines to photographs and everything in between - and determines the best print setting for these individual areas. Result: optimum print quality without sacrificing productivity.
You can select the right color profiles that meet international standards to create a workflow that best fits the type of output. If you want to generate the same output color as other devices you use (or have used in the past), the Océ TCS500 gives you the option to emulate other inkjet devices. In addition, a CAD color option is available for printing strong color lines for drawings.
Proven Océ Image Logic technology has set the standard for consistent, excellent image quality. It enhances scanned images and brings the highest level of quality to your copied and scan-to-file documents.
Scanning or copying large format, hard-copy originals and color mark-ups is easy with the Océ Green Button approach. Complex operations can be performed with just the push of a single button.
