Vivid Image's SP5000 now the affordable way to make large format colour copies

With the SP5000 from Vivid Image a dramatic breakthrough in scan-to-print technology is now available from TDS Cad-Graphics. Now, print on demand businesses and in-house graphic departments can print wide-format graphics, maps, line drawings and more without the need for a computer.

Using the SP5000 controller as supplied by TDS Cad-Graphics, it is now possible to scan-to print with just one-touch and without the need for any application software. Users can connect the scanner directly to the SP5000, scan the image and print it automatically to the desired size.

The SP500C controller links the Colortrac GX range of 24 bit full colour scanners to the industry's most popular inkjet printers, including the HP750C, 755CM, 2000CP, 2500CP and the Encad range of Novajet PRO and PROe printers. The SP5000 controller adds capability and economy to any application where an oversized original needs to be copied, enlarged or reduced.

Copying an original can be faster and more efficient than printing from a computer file. Locating and downloading an archived file or processing a huge CAD or GIS file can take a lot of time. Alternatively, users may just want a copy of an original drawing or document that includes hand written notes or revisions. All the functions of the scan-to-print process are managed from the SP5000's LCD touch screen, with simple intuitive commands for set-up, operation and trouble shooting. On-line help menus give quick tips by category to get you started and keep you going.

More advanced features such as colour adjustments are easily accessible, the SP5000 can handle virtually any type of ink and media combination with downloadable colour chains. Manual colour adjustments are also accessible from the touch screen for easy customisation; the customised colour settings can then be saved to the internal hard drive.

Fully integrated wide format colour copiers cannot produce documents over 24" x 36" wide, and they don't offer the flexibility of choosing the inks and media that are best suited for your application - all colour copiers can offer is a staggering price tag. When the SP5000 with its high speed SCSI interface and built in RISC processor is combined with a scanner and inkjet printer you have a fast affordable and versatile colour copying system. The SP5000 controller will help you work smarter, faster and more profitably.
